St Lucia

This destination

St Lucia is 'simply beautiful' in the words not only of its tourist board but also of the island's many visitors and we wholeheartedly agree. It is small, lush, green and tropical. The calm, warm waters of the Caribbean meet the soft sand beaches of the west coast, whilst the wilder seas of the Atlantic Ocean create a dramatic picture in the east.

The island is considered the most picturesque in the Caribbean and is renowned for its natural beauty: from the famous island landmark of the ‘Pitons’ rising 2000 feet above the sea; to the rainforests and waterfalls; reefs teaming with tropical fish; rich birdlife, luxuriant trees and exotic wildflowers. The island has rich fertile soil and grows a great variety of exotic tropical fruit from guava to passion and the island’s main export, bananas. You will notice a number of old colonial style plantation houses dotted around the island, a reminder of the British and French influence now long gone.

St Lucia is a great place to experience a relaxed and informal Caribbean holiday, here the warmth of the Caribbean sun is matched by the welcome of the good natured St Lucian’s, whose rich and colourful Creole culture is reflected in music, dance and tempting island cuisine.
