South East Asia Climate

CLIMATE/SEASON

For Thailand, Indochina & peninsular Malaysia October through to March is considered the best time to visit. Although there are a few regional differences, this period is generally drier, clearer and less humid. Humidity and temperature starts to build from April and then rains will typically be from around June through to September - however, as these are usually in tropical downpours interspersed with finer weather it can be a good time to visit as there are less tourists, prices are lower and the scenery is green and lush. Closer to the equator there is less seasonal difference - although watch out for the rains in Borneo which typically fall between September and November in Sarawak and November and February in Sabah. Situated in the southern hemisphere tropics April through to November is typically the best time to visit Bali.

BEST TRAVELLING PERIOD

Covering a large area, the best time to visit varies. Typically October through to March is considered best as it offers less rain and humidity, although nearer the equator the seasonal differences become less pronounced.
