Transport on Safari

The safari vehicles offer a lifting roof for good game-viewing. Although equipped with 9 seats, we use only 7 of these, giving everyone a guaranteed window seat and a little extra space. Our driver/guides are very knowledgeable about their country and the wildlife and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm with visitors.

Hotels on Safari

The hotels and lodges throughout your tour are all offer good medium class standards and have been specifically chosen, largely due to their excellent reputations and locations.

The Holiday Inn Mayfair Court in Nairobi is an informal medium class hotel located in the Westlands area of the city. This is a great place to relax after your international flight. Facilities include a choice of restaurants, a fitness centre, casino, shops, bar and a swimming pool.

Samburu Lodge lies on the banks of a river in the heart of Samburu National Reserve and looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come to drink. The lodge has a stunning mountainous backdrop as well as its own indigenous wildlife unique to the region. The hotel's rooms consist of delightful cottages and bandas which are spread up and down the river. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, and some have verandas overlooking the river. A fabulous team of chefs prepare meals which are taken in an open-sided Dining Room allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the river as you dine.

Treetops in the Aberdare Mountains is the original tree lodge and is world famous for its location facing a water hole and a salt lick in the Aberdares National Park as well as its historical royal connection. It was here in February of 1952 that a young Princess Elizabeth heard that her father, King George VI had died, meaning that she had become Queen.

The Lake Hotel by Lake Navaisha enjoys a fabulous setting amidst 55 acres of gardens and is particularly charming as rooms are all furnished with their own individual theme. Lunch most days is al fresco, beneath the shade of some magnificent acacia and pepper trees with the cuisine itself prepared from the freshest of local ingredients.

Keekorok Lodge in the Masai Mara lies in the direct path of the wildebeest migration and was the first lodge built in the Masai Mara. Accommodation is in traditional bungalows and chalets built from cedar wood and other indigenous building materials providing the lodge with a wonderful character. Large green lawns and bougainvillea provide a wonderful place to relax after your game drives. There are no fences around Keekorok Lodge thus it is not uncommon to see elephants and buffalos on the perimeter of the grounds. A particular delight is a 300 meter raised walkway which winds through the forest to a thatched sundowner bar overlooking the plains of the Masai Mara and a pool with resident hippos.
