Facilities are generally comparatively limited but they are usually clean, friendly places, ideal to relax after after a day sightseeing.

Situated in landscaped grounds around 5 miles north of the town of Tortuguero this lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the Tortuguero National Park. The beautiful grounds abound with colourful flowers, herbs and native trees and there are walking trails into the jungle and a turtle shaped pool situated next to a shady hammock hut.

Lomas del Volcan is situated on the mountainside of a 150 hectare farm, at the foot of the majestic Arenal volcano. Surrounded by tropical rainforest, the area is brimming with birdlife. The rooms are individual wooden bungalows which offer two terraces and great views of the volcano.

Cabanas Los Pinos is in the heart of an area that is home to hundreds of species of plants, mammals, insects and birds. This is not a traditional hotel but a number of small cabins set amid beautiful grounds. There is no restaurant on site but the town is just a short walk away.
