The Galapagos in the Pacific Ocean is a group of 19 islands and 42 tiny islets which enjoy a well deserved reputation as one the world’s great wildlife experiences. Only here will you meet wild creatures so unwary of man. Playful sea lions, lumbering giant tortoises, iguanas, charming penguins, red-footed and bluefooted boobies, frigate birds, storm petrels are just some of the myriad of sea and land creatures that one finds here. The enthralled Charles Darwin noted “it seems a little world within itself; the greater number of its inhabitants, both vegetable and animal, being found nowhere else”.
As well as the Galapagos Islands our tour visits Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city; colonial Cuenca; takes a journey through the avenue of the volcanoes on the Chiva Express as well as visiting Quito, Ecuador’s capital, set at 9000 feet above sea level against a backdrop of the high Andes.
Our cruise is aboard the 1st class MV Santa Cruz, an excellent vessel which has been designed specifically for the Galapagos and carries only 90 passengers. You can even extend your holiday by staying at Finch Bay or to Peru and the remarkable Incan ruins at Machu Picchu.
