Day 1: London / Holguin

Flight to Holguin arriving the same day. Transfer to El Yarey (approximately 1 hr 30 mins).

Day 2: El Yarey

Introductory guided nature walk (approximately 2 hours) to get to know your surroundings. Sunday in Cuba is a favourite of ours as everyone enjoys their day off. So we'll visit the nearby town of Bayamo for a day of sightseeing, music and fun. Packed lunch included. Return via the Botanical Gardens of Copaynicu..

Day 3: El Yarey / Santiago de Cuba

Time at lesiure

Day 4: El Yarey / Jiguani

Early morning guided birdwatching walk, returning to the hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon visit Jiguani, a town with a village feel: see the ruins of a former Spanish fortress and a monument to Jose Marti, the 19th century Cuban hero and writer (one of his poems became the lyrics for the world famous song 'Guantanamera'), visit a typical home and see dominoes played the Cuban way.

Day 5: El Yarey / Bayamo

A full day visit to Santiago de Cuba, the island's second city, with a large natural harbour, beautiful central plaza and some cobbled streets. Our sightseeing will include a look at the history, from colonial times, through the Revolution, to today as well as the scenic aspects of the city. Lunch is included at local hotel/restaurant.

Days 6 - 7: El Yarey

Two days at leisure.

Day 8 - 10: El Yarey / Guardalavaca

Transfer from El Yarey to the peaceful beach resort of Guardalavaca (approx 2 hours). Spend 3 nights at the medium class Brisas Guardalavaca.

Day 11: Havana

Evening flight from Holguin to Havana. Transfer to the Chateau Miramar for 3 nights.

Day 12-13: Havana

At leisure to explore Havana.

Day 14: Havana / London

Flight from Havana to Gatwick.
