At first glance, Singapore appears shockingly modern and twenty-first century in style, but this is an undeniably Asian city where Chinese, Malay and Indian traditions create part of the everyday landscape. This is apparent in colourful pockets such as Chinatown, Little India, the Arab enclave around North Bridge Road, in the way in which traders do business, in the vast hawker food centres preparing the best of Asian food and in the colourful markets that dot the city. Singapore also possesses a slight colonial air. Colonised by the British East India Company in 1819, there is a lasting architectural legacy in the form of the now-famous Raffles Hotel and the legendary Singapore Cricket Club. With a pleasing tropical climate, great food, sights and shopping, Singapore is a top Asian city to visit. Offering a twist on the usual ‘city stay’ recipe, we’ve also incorporated a taste of Malaysia in the form of Malacca – a fantastically historical town on the country’s west coast.

We then travel west to Malacca for 1 night. One of Malaysia's most sought after destinations, the small city-state of Malacca (Malay: Melaka) founded in 1396 lures many to its historic port city. Colonised by the Portuguese and Dutch and ceded to the British, Malacca is steeped in an intoxicating multicultural melange of heritage architecture and traditional belief, and offers the visitors an array of interesting sights and experiences.
