Sapa Pre Tour Extension from £275 extra
Day 1: London to Hanoi.
Upon arrival, transfer to the Sunway Hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax after your flight.
Day 2: Hanoi - Sapa
The following morning will be at leisure. You will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the train station to board the Tulico Train. This is an overnight train. All carriages are 4 berth carriages so you’ll be will be sharing with other travellers. This is half the appeal of this journey. If however you’d prefer to occupy a 2-berth cabin, please ask. Rates and availability are on request.
Day 3: Sapa
Arrive Lao Cai railway station at 0600hrs this morning. You’ll be met at the train station and transferred to Sapa. Check in at the Chau Long Hotel and enjoy breakfast. Sapa and district is located in Lao Cai Province, north-west Vietnam, close to the border with China. The Hoang Lien Son range of mountains dominates the district, which is at the eastern extremity of the Himalayas. This range includes Vietnams' highest mountain, Fan si pan, at a height of 3142m above sea level. Sapa is situated at an elevation of around 1600m. A reasonably quiet mountain town, Sapa is home to a great diversity of ethnic minority peoples including the Hmong and Zhao hill tribes. Most of the ethnic minorities work staple crops of rice and corn on sloping terraces since the vast majority of the land is mountainous. Enjoy a full day visit and exploration of Sapa including the Sapa Market. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Transfer back to hotel and overnight.
Day 4: Sapa - Hanoi
Early morning breakfast at hotel, then head out for a walking trip to see Dragon Jaw Mountain. Return to Sapa town for lunch in a local restaurant. Drive to Tram Ton pass. Return to Sapa via Silver water fall for a short walk around the falls. Drive to Ta Phin village of red Dzao minority tribe. Stop at an old French Monastery. Return to Lao Cai. Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant before boarding the overnight train back to Hanoi.
Day 5: Hanoi
Arrive Hanoi and transfer to the Sunway hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel and then meet with the rest of the group travelling on our Discover Vietnam tour.
Phan Thiet Extension
It’s possible to extend your stay and enjoy sun leisure time in Phan Thiet, staying at the Sunny Beach Hotrel for 4 nights including breakfast daily.

One of Vietnam’s most important fishing areas, Phan Thiet is located on the South China Sea in southeastern Vietnam and in recent years has been become a great place for coastal relaxation.
Transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet and back is by road. Due to the transfer timings from Phan Thiet, it will be necessary to be reserved on a later flight departure from HCMC. If this flight is unavailable, you’ll be advised. You’ll then need to purchase an extra night in HCM before flying home.
