Day 1: London / Kyoto

Overnight flight from London (regional departures available at a supplement - please ask for details) to Kansai International Airport.

Day 2: Kyoto

On arrival you will be met by our representative who will provide you with tickets for the short bus transfer to Kyoto station: with its department store and museums – of tea ceremonies, textiles, ceramics and art. 2 nights are spent at the New Miyako hotel, located across from the station.

Day 3: Kyoto

Time at leisure to explore Kyoto. With 2 World Heritage sites (Kiyomizo-dera temple and Nijo-jo Castle), the city is the perfect introduction to the contrasts between traditional and futuristic in today’s Japan. You can explore easily on foot or using Japan's efficient public transport systems.

Day 4: Kyoto/Tokyo

Take the Shinkansen Bullet Train to Tokyo, speeding past Mount Fuji en route. 2 nights at Takanawa Prince Hotel which is located within easy walking distance from the station.

Day 5: Tokyo

Explore Japan’s capital, where the subway/rail system can take you to peaceful gardens or hectic city streets; to hi-tech shopping or lantern trimmed market stalls.

Day 6: Tokyo/Hong Kong

Fly to Hong Kong for a 2 night stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel on Hong Kong Island.

Day 7: Hong Kong

Time to explore Hong Kong: take the Star Ferry across the harbour for views of the iconic skyline or discover the excellent array of restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Day 8: Hong Kong/Guilin

Travel by rail from the heart of Kowloon into mainland China and the city of Guangzhou (formerly known as Canton). A short city tour introduces you to modern China before an onward flight to Guilin. 2 nights at the Osmanthus Hotel.

Day 9: Guilin

This area is among the most picturesque in China and we include a tour of the city and a visit to the beautiful Reed Flute caves and Fubo Hill.

Day 10: Li River Cruise

Riverboat cruise through stunning limestone scenery passing small villages and fishermen on your way to Yangshuo. The area is famed for the cormorant fisherman who have trained their birds to fish for them. 2 nights at the New Century Hotel.

Day 11: Yangshuo

Explore this relaxed back town and the nearby countryside.

Day 12: Guilin/Bangkok

Return to Guilin for the flight south to Thailand’s vibrant capital for 2 nights at the Majestic Grande Hotel.

Day 13: Bangkok

At leisure in Bangkok to explore the shops markets, palaces and temples.

Day 14: Bangkok/Siem Reap

Fly to Siem Reap for 3 nights at Lotus Angkor Hotel (or similar).

Day 15: Siem Reap/Angkor

Full day tour visiting the timeless temples of Angkor, including visits to Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and the Elephant Terrace.

Day 16: Siem Reap

At leisure to either relax and recover or take optional tours to further explore some of the other temples in this vast complex.

Day 17: Siem Reap/Bangkok

Return flight to Bangkok for a further night at the Majestic Grande and time to possibly do some shopping before returning home.

Day 18: Bangkok/London

Return flight to London or continue to one of our beach extensions.
