Sukau River Lodge:

Located approximately 2 hours drive from Sandakan, this uniquely styled river lodge is built by the lower Kinabatangan River. The river has a rich and varied wildlife - including bizarre red long nose proboscis monkey (endemic to Borneo Island), orang utans, macaque, red and silver leaf monkey, elephants, dozens of beautiful exotic birds including several species of hornbills, crocodiles, civet cats and otters.

A Boat trip from the lodge is the most convenient way to see the wildlife and the tropical wilderness as well as the colourful local villagers living along the river at the village of Sukau.

The lodge is built from local materials and consists of wooden huts built on stilts which are typical to this area. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom and fan. It has a restaurant and a bar with a river facing view, which provides an ideal setting for dinner and relaxing.

Selingan Turtle Island:

Set in the Sulu Sea, this island is part of an important marine park and famous for the green turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs. It is approx 20 minutes' drive from Sandakan airport and the last part of the journey is a 30 minute boat ride.

This is a simple lodge set on the beautiful Selingan Island in the Turtle Island National Park. Conservation is very important so all chalets have been carefully tucked away in the centre of the island to keep the beach area protected. All rooms have twin beds and air conditioning. Bathroom facilities are communal. There is 1 restaurant where all meals are served.
