Day 1 to day 5

Beijing

Depart the UK five days earlier than the main itinerary, fly overnight flight from London to Beijing. Upon arrival in China’s capital you will be met and transferred to your hotel for four nights, offering ample time to discover the highlights of China’s capital and the surrounding area. We include a tour of imperial Beijing with visits to Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City; a visit to The Great Wall of China at Badaling; and a cycle tour of Beijing’s amazing Olympic sites.

Day 6 to Day 7

Beijing to Xi'an

Fly south to Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province and home of the world famous Terracotta Warriors.Visit the Mausoleum of Qin Shu Huang, home to the famous Terracotta Army dating from the 3rd century BC.

Day 8

Xi'an to Chengdu

Continue by air to Chengdu joining the main itinerary from Day 2

BANGKOK & BEACH EXTENSION - from £495

Extend to Thailand, combining time in the country's lively capital Bangkok with time to relax on the tranquil beaches of the Gulf of Siam.

Day 11 to Day 13

BANGKOK

Instead of returning home, fly from Hong Kong to Thailand's capital Bangkok. Time is at leisure to explore the city.

Travel by road about three hours south, to the peaceful seaside town of Cha-Am with three nights to relax and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
