In the Meemu Atoll about 40 minutes’ seaplane flight south of the capital, Male. The resort is set on its own island surrounded by a shallow lagoon. Its 70 spacious water bungalows stretch along one side of the island, whilst on the other side is a stunning beach of fine white coral sand lapped by the clearest of waters. The seas around the island host a colourful array of marine life – less spoilt than in some of the more developed atolls further north.
The island has a main restaurant, over-water bar and beach bar. Dining is a delight with a wonderful array of dishes available from the buffet every lunchtime and evening. The late afternoons, meanwhile, offer the opportunity to relax and enjoy a sundowner as the sun sets over the ocean.
There are daily complimentary boat trips (morning and afternoon) enabling you to snorkel and see the reef. The resort also has an excellent dive centre with trips and courses available (at extra cost). Optional excursions and activities also available include island hopping, night fishing and snorkelling safaris.
Water Bungalows: All the water bungalows are built on wooden stilts above the lagoon. Furnished to a high standard, the comfortable interiors are air-conditioned and include tea/coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, TV, phone, safety deposit box and a terrace overlooking the ocean. There is even a viewing window in the floors, enabling you to watch the marine life below! Beach Bungalows: Beach bungalows are located amid the vegetation, overlooking the beach and offer an excellent value alternative to the water bungalows. All inclusive: Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Drinks: selected spirits/cocktails, beer, soft drinks at selected bars. House wine served with meals. Various sports and leisure activities.
