Day 6-7: Chitwan National Park
Our alternative itinerary takes you to the Royal Chitwan National Park, located in the Terai lowlands beneath the high Himalayan peaks and home to a plethora of fauna, including the one-horned Asiatic rhino, deer, boar, leopards, and the extremely elusive Bengal tiger. Instead of transferring back to Kathmandu (on day 6), we take a road transfer into the national park. During your 2 night stay at the Machan Lodge we include an elephant safari through the park, canoeing, bird watching, jungle drives and nature walks.
Continue by road to Kathmandu and complete the remainder of the itinerary.

Hiking Alternative:
For the energetic we offer an alternative itinerary incorporating a moderate level hike from Nagarkot.
On day 8 hike along the Fort trail (1 hour) and return to the Fort Resort for lunch.
In the afternoon hike toward Rohini Bhanjyang (3 hours) via local villages, terraced rice fields and traditional Nepalese mountain houses.
Arrive Rohini for dinner and camp overnight. Please note facilities are simple.
After breakfast continue hiking to Mohanpokhari and Telkot (1hr 15mins).
Then hike from Telkot back to the Fort Resort for lunch. You then have the rest of the afternoon to relax before having dinner. Overnight at the Fort Resort.
After breakfast transfer back to Kathmandu for your flight back to London
