Comfortable and informal, the hotel has 54 air-conditioned rooms with double bed, seating area, telephone, TV, tea-coffee making facilities, and private balcony or terrace all overlooking the gardens or pool.

* Bird watching/nature walk – In the hotel grounds to watch for the birds – no fewer than 72 different species of bird have been spotted so this is an excellent place for a keen birdwatcher. Also included is a guided walk from the hotel along the beach.
* Sri Lankan living – Set off early for a short journey on the costal train, before visiting a quiet village and a morning market. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at a family home.
* Brief Garden – the former home of the late Bevis Bawa, one time Aide-de-Camp to the Governor, socialite, gardener and artist. The house (we are able to visit the ground floor) has fascinating photographs and original art; and the gardens are a delight, combining formal lawns with exotic tropical trees and plants.
