Depart London for your overnight flight to Colombo

On arrival into Colombo transfer to the delightful Tropical Villas hotel set in a quiet walled garden at Beruwela, a fishing village in the islands south west. Spend 2 nights relaxing in the tranquil atmosphere of this hotel.
Day 4: Beruwela/Galle
After breakfast visit the former home of the late Bevis Bawa and visit the delightful gardens. Travel to the historic fort town of Galle and en-route visit a turtle hatchery. Spend 2 nights at the Lady Hill hotel, perched on a hillside overlooking the picturesque town of Galle.
Day 5: Galle
After breakfast enjoy a half day of sightseeing in Galle including a visit to the fascinating Dutch fort and the nearby Kataluwa Temple, renowned for its beautiful frescoes from the Kandyan period. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
Day 6: Dolphin & Whale Watching
Rise very early for our journey to the port of Mirissa and take a boat ride out to the natural habitats of the dolphins and whales. Enjoy a 2 ˝ hour dolphin and whale watching experience. The common blue whale, Bryde’s whale, sperm whale, spinner and risso dolphins have all been spotted in this area and although sightings are common from November through to April, they cannot be guaranteed. After this wonderful experience head back to Galle. Spend your afternoon at leisure or take another boat ride in search of these ocean giants (at an extra cost).
Day 7: Galle/Embilipitiya
Today we visit the Handunugoda Tea Factory, the only tea plantation that produces the world famous White tea, and a visit to a Lace making showroom. Head onwards to Embilipitiya for 2 nights at the Centuria hotel.
Day 8: Udawalawe National Park
After breakfast learn how to make traditional Sri Lankan sweetmeats (delicious confectionary pastries). During the afternoon we visit orphaned elephants in the Elephant Transit Home. Our final highlight is a jeep safari to spot elephants in Udawalawe National Park.

Enjoy your morning at leisure or book an optional excursion into Udawalawe National Park. After lunch travel back to Tropical Villas hotel for a further 3 nights.
Day 12: Beruwela/Colombo/London
