Our Highlights:
  • All inclusive holiday in the historic desert Oasis of Al Ain
  • The opportunity to visit a traditional camel market
  • The lush scenery of the Garden City of the Gulf

We would recommend Al Ain for those of you who are interested in a relaxing holiday in an easy-going city, with relatively few tourists and expatriates by comparison with other parts of the region. As well as all meals and drinks at your hotel, we have also added 2 introductory excursions to Al Ain. Many of our clients simply enjoy lazing in and around the hotel, by the pool or in the gardens. To explore further afield, hiring a car is a good option, and of course, fuel is cheap here.

The 'Garden City of the Gulf', Al Ain, lies some 2 hours from Abu Dhabi or Dubai, on the border with Oman's Buraimi Oasis. As you arrive here, the lush green of trees and the vibrant colour of tropical shrubs, such as bougainvillea, are in stunning contrast to the ochres of the desert landscapes you have just crossed. The giant coffee pot on the main roundabout is a rather quirky delight. And to remind you of Al Ain, you could perhaps buy a coffee pot keyring! This is the second city of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and is set in the desert, against a mountain backdrop. This is a place with a long history as a stopping place for trading caravans, with a fascinating camel market, as well as an oasis of palm trees, kept green and fresh by an ancient irrigation system, still in use today. There have been human communities here since 3000 years BC and if you are interested in archaeology, the museum is an excellent place to start.
