Day 1: London / Luxor
Fly London to Luxor. On arrival transfer to our hotel - The St Joseph Hotel for 2 nights.
Day 2: Luxor
After breakfast explore Luxor's East Bank taking in a guided visit to the Temple of Karnak and Luxor Temple. With its stunning Hypostyle Hall and myriad statues, the Temple of Karnak is considered one of ancient Egypt's finest temples.
Day 3: Luxor / Cairo
This morning, crossing the Nile, visit the monuments, temples and tombs on Luxor's West Bank necropolis including the legendary Valley of the Kings - a area pocked with subterranean tombs dedicated to the greatness of the pharaohs; the sandstone ramped and colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Nobles and the Colossi of Memnon. Later this afternoon, take the overnight sleeper train north to Cairo.
Day 4: Cairo
Good morning, Cairo. Transfer to the Shepheard Hotel for 3 nights. Day at leisure
Day 5: Cairo
After breakfast enjoy a full day tour incorporating the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, the ancient necropolis of Saqqara - home to the Zhoser's step pyramid and the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities where you'll be able to marvel at the golden treasures recovered from the tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamen
Day 6: Cairo
Day at leisure in Cairo.
Day 7: Cairo / Luxor
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo airport for the short flight south to Luxor, where upon arrival you'll be transferred to the Philippe Luxor Hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and shop for some last-minute souvenirs.
Day 8: Luxor / London
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your onward flight to London.
